SOCAL SOCIAL ENTREPRENUERS

Socal Social Entrepreneurs is incorporated in the State of California as a public benefit corporation with application as a charity under IRC 501 c(3) in process.

We build tomorrow’s empathetic leaders with marketable skills to solve social challenges today through technology, community, and private/public partnerships.

There is an assertion today that AI will replace millions of jobs. However, AI will never replace people trained with skills that define new opportunities, enhance existing markets, and expand strategic business opportunities with a win-win attitude.

That is the differentiated skill set we develop and offer and do so for social impact. The skills we develop for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs benefit non-profit as well for-profit enterprises.

THE PERFECT STORM

Many youth in high school and college do not know what career path to follow. They really should have a 5-year vision.

Our education system  drive depth of knowledge in particular subject areas.  A significant majority of this depth will go unused by students over the course of their lifetime. It’s known that a preponderance of youth come away from our education system without deployable marketable skill sets, they have deep siloed book knowledge.

So the current state is:

Youth with a lack of career vision and passion that are overtaught and overstressed.

Many people on the precipice with lack of education and tools, mental and physical health issues, without hope.

A national economic policy that wants to have assembly/manufacturing skills and supply chain  rehomed to the USA.

This is not a recipe for success.

ENTREPRENEURS IN RESIDENCE

We want to right-size that model. We build marketable skills in a team basedwith real life social impact projects we execute on. We build a portfolio of skills, across multiple entrepreneurs in residence, in a collaborative team environment and make use of their natural passions and talents.

WIN-WIN

Every organization needs leaders that can drive initiatives. In our model, youth don’t need deep technology expertise to make a difference. Youth need skills in planning and running cross organizational initiatives, new product introductions, and enhancements with approaches that challenge conventional wisdom across people, process, and product. We focus on social impact in order to build empathetic leaders no matter what path they take. They adopt soft and hard skills are transferable to industry.

Our entrepreneurs learn how to look at social problems, generate hypotheses, and propose approaches and build solutions. They learn how to own the results.

About Us

Our  Vision

Our long-range vision is to connect an ecosystem of industries, partners, agencies, and community to provide support to the homeless, near homeless, and disadvantaged with incomes that don’t support a living wage to afford housing.  We drive support beyond the head-to-a bed. We do this through the development of youth into the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs to promote, socialize, incubate new product process and methods. We envision a future where youth have demonstratable skills before entering the marketplace and people get the resources and incomes they need to be self-sustaining and contribute back to the same vision.

In doing so, we will develop a roadmap with our Entrepreneurs in Residence that will iterate over a series of product, process, public, and partner capabilities.  Each its own Minimal Viable Product (MVP) that support the hypothesis at each stage and the long-range vision incrementally. Product in this sense is beyond something you can physically touch, but can  extend to processes, policies, and procedures of the entire ecosystem.

PRODUCT BASED SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

We teach youth entrepreneurs a breath of different marketable skills.  These include:

  • production of and reading of 3 core financial statements,
  • grant funding,
  • relationship and partnership development,
  • how to solve problems and validate of problem-solution-hypothesis,
  • conduct user surveys and interviews,
  • develop empathy maps, user journey maps, feature roadmaps,
  • UX and UI research,
  • agile methodologies,
  • introduction to low code, rapid impact toolsets

IMPACTFUL SOCIAL SOLUTIONS

We reinforce learning with actual products that are transformative solutions to deep social issues. Our entrepreneurs in residence are responsible for their specification with founders’ and directors guidance and some third-party development help.  They execute.

We build 360 degree all win solutions that:

  • help support the homeless or soon to be homeless
  • assist multiple agencies in completion of their support mission
  • provide community members a way that they can help anonymously
  • enable industry partners to be a part of the solution and have payback for their support

About Us

Our Mission

Our mission and values are to incubate and build today’s youth into entrepreneurs that will serve as next generation leaders in industry and public service.  Instill empathetic and compassionate leadership that will energize their passions and contribute maximum social impact.

We provide youth social entrepreneurs with marketable skills they will use in their career and execute immediately on programs to incrementally solve big social problems. We collaborate and lobby governmental agencies to drive them to unifying architectures that can democratize secure and reliable access across disparate services across many agencies and programs. Additionally, we build onramps for industry partners to contribute to solutions and gain access to qualified people.
